Hexaware to create 420 Manchester jobs after India trade mission

Invest Manchester says the week-long mission led by Mayor Bev Craig secured more than 600 jobs, with Hexaware opening a £9m design and innovation centre at Sister.

Indian IT company Hexaware will create 420 jobs at a new £9m Design and Innovation Centre in Manchester, according to Invest Manchester, which announced the deal on 16 October 2026 at the end of a Greater Manchester trade mission to India.

The centre, at Sister, is being delivered in collaboration with the University of Manchester. Invest Manchester said the week-long mission, led by Mayor of Greater Manchester Bev Craig with a 60-strong delegation, secured more than 600 new jobs in total across New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata.

The other commitments

Invest Manchester listed several more:

  • Keva Fragrances is investing £8m in a Global Creative Development Centre at Manchester Science Park, creating more than 30 skilled jobs.
  • Raven AI, a cyber security company headquartered in Chennai, is investing about £7.5m over five years in a UK base at DiSH, including an AI security research laboratory, with around 20 research jobs.
  • 42 Gears is investing about £2m, with a new office in Didsbury, its third owned office after Bangalore and California, and plans to take its Greater Manchester headcount above 50 within three years.
  • Infosys will recruit 80 apprentices from Greater Manchester to work on the NHS PeoplePortal Transformation Programme.
  • RPSG Group has partnered with Lancashire Cricket Club to invest £80m to become co-owners of the Manchester Super Giants, with plans for a high-performance training centre next to Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

Including commitments secured on the mission, Invest Manchester said Indian investment in Greater Manchester now exceeds £100m. It put the trading relationship between Greater Manchester and India at more than £800m.

Joe Manning, managing director of Invest Manchester, said: “India has become one of the markets that matters most to us, and what’s landed this week is the result of years spent building relationships through the Manchester India Partnership and our own direct work with Indian businesses.”

The mission was the first mayoral trade mission to India since 2019, according to Bev Craig. More inward investment and company news is in our companies section, and Greater Manchester’s new 2035 Innovation Plan is in tech.
